Known nowPublished facts

Party format, intended period, selected route and planned mountain days may be shown where they are already part of the preparation record.

Being preparedOpen operating record

Training, gear, briefing, health-information process and wider-journey continuity remain visible as preparation work rather than completed claims.

Not yet evidencedPost-expedition record

Summit outcome, altitude events, guide-team performance, crew-welfare evidence, testimonials and operated lessons remain unpublished until the climb has happened and the record is verified.

Status

Prepared openly, before it becomes a story.

This dossier is intentionally different from an operated-journey story. It records a climb that is still being prepared. Route, pacing and wider journey context can be shown as preparation facts; summit outcome, operated performance and lived experience cannot be inferred in advance.

Current shape

01Seven mountain days

Machame is treated as a seven-day climb rather than compressed to six days.

02Father + adult son

A shared summit objective, with individual altitude response and mountain decisions remaining separate.

03Machame route

Southern approach through rainforest, Shira, Lava Tower, Barranco and Karanga before Barafu.

04Wider Tanzania

The climb is designed as one chapter of a broader journey rather than the entire visit.

Preparation ledger

Readiness without pretending certainty.

Preparation is tracked by evidence state: what is already decided, what is actively being prepared and what cannot be known before operation. There is no percentage score and no summit prediction.

Training and gear information is preparation guidance, not medical clearance or a guarantee of performance. Final requirements are reconciled with the operating partner before departure.

After the mountain

The story follows the record.

KILELE can become an operated case study only after the climb. The preparation dossier does not pre-write a success story; it defines what evidence may later be published.

01What actually happened

Actual dates, route used, timing and any route variation replace preparation assumptions.

02Decisions that mattered

Turnaround, descent, pacing or operating decisions are recorded as facts—not edited out to make the story cleaner.

03Operational lessons

Camp, food, equipment and continuity observations can inform future product decisions once they are verified.

04Cleared media & testimony

Images and quotations enter the public case study only when they are appropriate and cleared for publication.

Summit outcome, altitude events, guide-team details, crew-welfare evidence and testimonials remain blank until the expedition has operated and the record is verified.

Expedition continuity

The mountain is one chapter, not an isolated booking.

The operating handoff should remain coherent before, during and after the climb. For KILELE 2027, these are the five continuity points that must eventually be specified in the expedition record.

01Arrival

Airport, first-night and programme handoff should be explicit rather than treated as generic logistics.

02Briefing & gear check

Route, equipment, health-information process and outstanding operating questions are resolved before departure.

03Mountain

The route dossier, verified operating specification and guide decision system become the active expedition record.

04Recovery

The first post-mountain night and recovery handoff are planned with the same care as the ascent departure.

05Onward Tanzania

Safari, Rift or coast continuation should connect deliberately to the climb instead of behaving like a separate booking.

Exact hotel, transfer, briefing, gear-check and post-mountain service details remain subject to the confirmed 2027 operating plan.
