Tanzania is rewarding year-round. The dry season, June to October, offers the easiest game viewing and the famous Serengeti river crossings. The green season, December to March, brings the wildebeest calving, fewer crowds, and lush landscapes. There is no bad time, only different gifts.
A bespoke Tanzania journey is priced around the specific itinerary, season, lodges, and group — so a single figure on a webpage would be a guess, and usually a misleading one. Rather than sell fixed packages, we compose each journey around your budget and shape the experience to fit it. The proposal sets out the total price together with the inclusions, exclusions and any elements still subject to availability. If it helps you to look at what the market charges while you consider us, please do — we have no interest in you arriving uninformed. And if you would like something more grounded than a market average, ask us for a past itinerary: a real journey we composed, with what those particular destinations, lodges, and choices actually cost. It will not be your journey, but it will show you honestly how one is built and what it comes to.
Most safari travel in Tanzania is straightforward when it is properly planned, but conditions vary by region and circumstance. We use experienced local teams, select accommodation carefully and review the current official travel guidance before departure. Guests should also follow their own government advice and normal travel precautions.
The Great Migration is the seasonal movement of large herds through the Serengeti ecosystem and into the Maasai Mara. River crossings and calving periods are strongly influenced by rainfall and cannot be guaranteed for a particular day. We use the travel period to choose the most sensible Serengeti sector, while being clear about what remains unpredictable.
Yes. Tanzania can be wonderful with children when the pace, lodges, and activities are chosen for the family. Shorter drives, family-friendly camps, and interactive experiences make a real difference, and a private journey lets everything flex around your family rather than a fixed group.
It depends on the route. Four or five safari days can work well for a focused northern circuit; a longer journey gives more room for slower pacing, additional regions or the coast. We would rather reduce the number of stops than make a short trip feel like continuous transfer.
Yes. We work fluently with Spanish-speaking travellers and can compose the entire journey, guiding, and communication in Spanish, so nothing is lost in translation before, during, or after the trip.
A fixed package starts with a predetermined route and set of inclusions. Enkiama starts with the travelling group and then selects the route, accommodation, guide and pace around that brief. We may reuse places and partners that work well, but not force one group into another group’s itinerary.
Yes. We plan Kilimanjaro around route choice, acclimatisation, crew quality, safety and the fitness of the group. Reaching the summit can never be guaranteed, and we would rather recommend a slower or more suitable route than compress the climb unnecessarily. The mountain can also be part of a journey without a summit attempt.
Fair treatment is part of how we select a Kilimanjaro partner. We expect clear pay arrangements, appropriate loads, proper food and equipment, safe working conditions and transparent handling of tips. The exact crew structure and welfare standards for your climb are confirmed with the operating partner before booking.
Sometimes. Where two solo enquiries genuinely align in dates, route, pace and expectations, we may ask both travellers whether they would like an introduction. We do not place people together automatically, and either person can decline without affecting their enquiry.
