Privacy
We ask for very little, we keep it privately, and we never sell or share it. This page explains exactly what happens to anything you send us — in plain language, because a privacy notice you cannot understand is not really a privacy notice.

Enkiama Expeditions is responsible for the information you send us. Baraka, Enkiama’s founder, is currently the person who reads and handles it. If you have any question about your data, write to hola@enkiama.com and it reaches him directly.
Only what you choose to tell us. There are three places on this site where you can write to us, and each asks for the same small set of things:
That is all. We do not ask for your address, your date of birth, your passport details, or your payment information through this website. If a journey progresses to the point where such details are genuinely needed, we will ask you directly and explain why at that moment.
We hold what you send for one reason: to reply to you and, if you wish, to compose a journey with you. That is the whole purpose.
Where data protection law applies to you — including the GDPR, if you are writing from the European Union or the United Kingdom — our lawful basis is your consent, given when you choose to write to us, and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
When a journey is actually being arranged, we may need to share the practical details of a booking — usually a name and travel dates — with the lodges, guides, or partners who will host you. This is unavoidable: a lodge cannot expect you without knowing you are coming. We share only what is necessary for that purpose, and only with partners who work to our standards.
This website itself loads typefaces from Google Fonts and a small script library from Cloudflare. When your browser fetches those files, those services will see your IP address, as they would on most websites. We do not control that, and we receive nothing from it.
This site is published using GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs.
If you write us a letter about your journey, it stays private unless you explicitly tell us it may be shared. Nothing you write is ever published without your clear permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time by writing to us — we will take it down.
If we correspond and you decide Tanzania is not for you now, we keep your message only as long as it is useful to the conversation — and we will delete it sooner if you ask.
If you travel with us, we keep the records of your journey for as long as we are required to for accounting and legal reasons, and no longer than that.

Write to hola@enkiama.com and we will do it. We will not ask you why, we will not try to talk you out of it, and we will confirm when it is done. If you are in the EU or UK and you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
The short version: we hold your name, a way to reach you, and what you wrote. We use it to write back. We do not sell it, share it, or keep it longer than we should. Ask us to delete it and we will.
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. We will not make a change that quietly reduces your protection.
